I'm not really sure what to say, but my 3 month old nephew was just diagnosed with KD this morning. He was admitted to Rady's Children Hospital at 4am on Wednesday with a high fever that wouldn't go away, rash, red eyes, and irritability. I've been reading up on KD all day and saw a video that was made and noticed a lot of similarities between the child in the video and my nephew. I'm just very concerned about the age and sex of my nephew and the possibility that he'll be more susceptible to heart problems since his echo did show some damage to his arteries. I'm trying to be strong for my sister and brother in law but i'm gonna be honest, i'm extremely worried. If there are any parents or relatives of a child with KD can give me some advice or...anything...i'd really appreciate it. I just feel so helpless. Thank you.

Best advice - support your sister and let her know everything will be alright. Be strong. Encourage your sister to own her son's care and ask lots of questions. Push until she is satisfied with the answer.
