The Kawasaki Disease Forum

This research was done in 2007 and apparently re-done in 2010. It irritates me that nobody is looking at the ramifications of this genetic polymorphism. Neato - there is a genetic difference more prevalent in KD people (and actually more than one have been found) - but what does it mean? The money could be better spent on figuring out if this gives susceptibility to some infection as I have tried to correlate in other threads (citing the original research on this), if it makes the immune system go wacko, if all KD patients have this, if there are other physical differences as a result, etc. I hope I don't see this research come out again in 2013 because I think if researchers just poked at this one genetic finding...
