The Kawasaki Disease Forum

Just announced, Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco) will be performing next month – February 13 & 14, 2009 at the Vic Theatre, 3145 N. Sheffield, Chicago. Proceeds from the show support the Kawasaki Disease Fund for Research, as well as a children’s scholarship fund. The Tweedy family has been a great support to the Kawasaki Disease Fund for Research at Children’s Memorial and these shows were inspired by the most recent and tragic passing of a young Kawasaki Disease patient, 5 year old May Aldrin of Chicago. May passed away unexpectedly this past November at Children’s Memorial, due to heart complications from Kawasaki Disease – leaving behind a beautiful memory in her short time. May has made a significant impact on the Kawasaki community, both in life and death. Before she died she helped raise funds for research by being the focus of a local fundraiser last September, “Play for May.” In the few months that have passed, May has helped raise almost $25,000 in her name for Children’s Memorial research efforts for Kawasaki Disease. She will not be forgotten. The tickets are $100 each and can be purchased thru Ticketmaster.com or at the Vic Theatre Box Office. Doors open at 7pm, the show starts at 8pm.
