KD symptoms after treatment

My 5 month old was diagnosed with atypical KD last week. He was diagnosed much earlier than most due to a preexisting condition that sent us to the ER when he spiked a fever. He was treated on day 3 of fever. He did not have all of the symptoms of KD, but he definitely had the fever that wouldn’t budge with Tylenol, swollen lymphnodes, and very red eyes. He responded well to the first dose of ivig, was fever free for 26 hours, and then spiked another fever. He was fever free again for 24+ hours, discharged from the hospital, then we went back 24 hours later when he spiked another fever. He had another dose of ivig and hasn’t had a fever since the one that sent us back to the hospital—53 hours. His eyes seemed to clear up a ton after the treatment ended yesterday afternoon, however, this evening, they seem to be red again. How long did the red eyes last? Does it go away and come back? Is it supposed to go away for good after treatment?

hi
The red eyes, especially at the end of the day, are very normal and do not mean continued inflammation or
any other problems
It is considered to be a form of photophobia and will likely be the last thing to resolve, my son's lasted
for almost 8 weeks
best

Thank you so much for the reply! This does make me feel better. He seems to wake up with pretty clear eyes, and then towards the end of they day, they get red again.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the info, Nancy. This is exactly what I was wondering about too. Thank God.
