Reocurring KD
My son was diagnosed with KD 2/14/04, was admitted and treated and we thought he was fine. 04/10/04 he was admitted again with it again, treated and from that day on he has has partial KD everyother year. The physicians and heart specilists say that it is a miracle that he hasnt had any damge to his heart. Has anyone had this problem with the KD coming back partially?

Re: Reocurring KD
My daughter had KW 2 years ago and was misdiagnosed during that time. Recently she has experienced hives, low grade temp, vomiting, mild blisters on lips, and joint pain which lasted on and off for two weeks. No one seems to know what is going on with her. Does this sound like what your child is having or a reocurring KD? Of course, the symptoms are in now way as intense or as severe.

Re: Reocurring KD
we just discharged from the hospital an hour ago.. my son is 1 year and 8 months old and diagnosed to have a Kawasaki resistant. at first i was not convince it was kawasaki since the symptoms are different from the first attack. but the test showed he has kawasaki and need to undergone IVIG again.. it reoccurred after 2 months... ( first attack October 31, 2010) and second attacked was January 19, 2011. we did all the laboratory test with my pediacardio and hematologist, the 2D echo and ultrasound of the abdomen showed that all organs are normal.. after the IVIG, CBC test showed lower hemoglobin and need to transfuse blood to prevent cardiac arrest.. so traumatic for me as a mother but faith keep me going on .. im so thankful that my baby still got a good heart..close monitoring should be done according to my pediacardio and to boast his immune system.. Praying that he will be ok and become healthy..

Re: Reocurring KD
I am having a hard time with this...my son was diagnosed 11/2 years ago. We were told he was clear and to stop going for echos this past oct. Last week he had a fever for 3 days and red tongue with bumps, reddish eyes and chapped lips. The doctors told us there was no way to know if it was Kawasaki' s again. Blood etc could not tell them cause levels were only slightly raised. Today he had chest pains for the first time. He is 6. I'm very scared now. Don't know what to do? How do you know if it is back?????

It doesn't seem like they would send a child with fever home, but my daughter was discharged with a fever also. The fever would spike, go down and spike again. She was not over the KD-she was admitted three times to the hospital...I think because they want to believe the IVIG worked. Have they done the labs? CRPs? They should be lower and continuing to drop into a normal range. Also, if you are home, be sure to get that followup echo done, especially if they found a dilation of any kind.
