Holiday Greetings to Everyone,
For those who are on the west coast, or occassional visitors to the KD Foundation website (www.kdfoundation.org), you may be aware that in November, the KD Foundation held a celebrity chef fund raiser in San Diego to benefit KD research. We teamed up with Nate Appleman, a KD dad from NYC who won the Food Network's Chopped All-Star competition earlier this year. We want to take this event to the east coast, and we are targeting NYC in 2012. This kind of event requires a lot of local support. To make this successful, we need your help. We are looking for NYC-area volunteers who would like to get involved. The event will likely be an auction accompanied by dinner led by Nate Applemenan and featuring 15-20 top chefs from around the country (some who you may know from TV and others who are superstars locally). The chefs will cook tableside specially prepared meals for those seated at their tables (each table has a different menu selected by the chef). Those who attended the San Diego event can attest to how specialy the evening was.
In addition to the dinner/auction, we hope to present a free parent educational symposium featuring KD experts. This will likely take place the morning before the dinner, but details need to be worked out.
