Kawasaki Disease Benefit event

Hello,
My son was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease over the summer. It has been a long process for us because no one knew what was wrong with him. I started to do research and found that he had every symptom of KD. I diagnosed my son:-) He is doing better now and I felt that families need to be aware of this disease because it can be fatal. I want to dedicate myself to make families and friends aware and informed of this disease.
I am putting together an event to raise money for the KD foundation and to allow the community to gain awareness. I am aiming for next September 2011 in Baltimore or DC.
I am a fashion designer so the event will consist of a Fashion show of my designs and I will auction off 5 dresses that will fully benefit Kawasaki research.

If you live in the Baltimore/Washington DC area or even if you don't please contact me if you would like to help with this event and tell your story. We really need to work together and help our children.

I would love to help you with this event. My daughter was hospitalized in july and i diagnosed her before the doctors too! I too am looking for ways to get the word out and raise some money for research. Unfortunately i am in cleveland and am hoping to get some things going here but would still love to assist in any way i can. i may be able to come out to either location you mention or maybe we could try and have something there as well as here - the more the merrier.

i firmly believe that the more we can work to get the word out, the more money we can raise....the more children and families we can help.

I live in Washington, DC and would like to help with this event anyway I can. On April 16,2011 my 2 year old nephew was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. This is a very trying time for our family as we not only try to learn about this rare disease but also work together to ensure he is being monitored and taking care of properly.
