1986 All symptoms backwards except aneurysm

Post by KDsurvivor30yrs »

All I can truly remember is looking over the bars of my crib and out the window of the children's hospital, towards the parking lot where my Dad had just taken my 2 older siblings. They were going to Dairy Queen, I wanted to go too!
Everything else I know by the stories my Mom says, I was her miracle child and I was also the ER kid.
Just 1 month shy of my little brother's 6 month old Mark, I came down with such a high fever 106°, that refused to go down. I was rushed to "Group Death" (as my Mom named Group Health) & they sent me to MaryBridge Children's hospital in Tacoma, Wa. My neck had lumps so large that it looked like I swallowed a golf ball or 2, they did a biopsy surgery, which left a 3" scar and found nothing but swollen lymph nodes. They tested me for several different diseases, I was poked and prodded daily. A group of student Dr's came around and one Dr that my Mom thought was irritating kept saying I had Kawasawkis, but my symptoms were backwards. Everyone ignored him until my symptoms worsened, my body kept swelling up like a red version of the Michellyn Man and an EKG showed that I had an enlarged aneurysm on my heart. They put me on baby aspirin and told my Mom they could keep me in the hospital or she could take me home with a heart monitor; either way, all the monitor will do is notify her of a heart attack that they could do nothing about at that time. She opted to take me home and they have gave me a week, to no longer than a year to live. The aneurysm was large and would continue to grow. She did not take the heart monitor home, as it would not have given me the freedom to have a better short life. I was to come back in a week's time to check out my heart and see how big the aneurysm had become.
Mom took me home and she prayed, and she asked the church family to pray and our large extended family. We are just your average Christians, at that time Presbyterian by denomination. I was weak at home and still without much life in me. I was only given baby aspirin.
A week passed and I was still alive and feeling a bit better. The EKG showed...NO MORE ANEURYSM! The cardiologist couldn't believe it, no one could explain it, but my faithful Mom knew just what happened...
Now, fast forward 30 years. I am 32, almost 33 old and have all of a sudden had a series of migraines and high blood pressure **mind you, I have 4 children and my 4th put me on bedrest for up to 2 years with and after pregnancy** Even with my passed 4 years of regaining my health from my hard pregnancy, I have never had high blood pressure. I'm mildly overweight, but only the common 30#s a Momma often is-whom has been out of a wheel chair for only 2 years.
Because of my pregnancy, I have ignored many signs of any heart issues until now. I am at a great place with my physical and mental health and have a loving and fun family.
This last summer I would feel for short periods of time, a sharp deep stabbing pain in my chest, near my heart. I wasn't doing anything strenuous, but it has happened at least 3 times. I started checking my blood pressure when my headaches turned into days long migraines and back into headaches. I also have to be aware of possible blood clots because of my last pregnancy. My blood pressure is around 150s-160/90s-110 range, with hb at 82, usually-when I am just at rest. I stumbled upon this forum tonight because I tried to sleep and I have no anxiety, but I felt like my blood was being pounded out of my chest , with bp of 160/102 & 81bpm.
Yes, I have just started to see a cardiologist-haven't seen one since childhood, because new studies show heart attacks of survivors, start in their 30s.
He was very concerned of my symptoms and will be doing a Ct scan of the insurance can get around to allow it. Has anyone else had these symptoms?
*stabbing chest pains
*history of asthma
*numbness in lower half of one leg
*weeks long headaches and migraines
*high blood pressure when healthy eater & lifestyle
