Vax should not be given within 11 months of IVIG for Kawasaki Disease!

Post by AlwaysResearching »

Hi!

I just read an article, then checked out the PDF, and it indicates that MMR and Chicken Pox vax should not be given within 11 months of IVIG for Kawasaki Disease.

My son had IVIG in May 1995 and the MMR in October 1995. He also had his Chicken Pox vax in that time frame.

By January 1996 Autism had hold of him.

This link will take you straight to the PDF document from the CDC of all places: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkb ... mmr_ig.pdf

Hi

The ONLY reason for delaying LIVE vaccines such as MMR and chickenpox for 11 months after receiving IVIG is that the vaccine might
not be effective and could need to be repeated later.

NO risk from a live vaccine after IVIG.

Nancy

Do you have a source on that, or did I miss it? What I understood is that it can create problems that aren't related to "being ineffective".

Thank you,
Diane

Hi Diane,

Reference for waiting 11 months after IVIG before having *live* vaccines (Inactivated vaccines should be given on schedule)
