Regression: Plavix or not - A second opinion from Mayo Clinic

Post by Cici »

Hi everyone! Please forgive my language issues given that English is not my native language. My son got KD when he was 15 months old. I found this KD Forum and I posted my son’s story and his symptoms. I also posted his 6 weeks post KD update - off Lovenox and adding Plavix. After he showed some side effects of taking Plavix, I followed my instincts and decided to look for a second opinion regarding my son’s long-time management plan. So below is our new update ——
We went to Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. It was good news for us. It was what I’ve been hoping for. My son doesn’t need additional medication. Low does aspirin daily is enough for him. And he doesn’t need CT Scan. Stress Echo can wait till he is 7 or 8 years old when he starts to get involved with sports. We will follow up with cardiologist yearly.

Hello Cici,
Good tomhear you got a second opinion at teh Mayo clinic. Did your kid have aneurisms? Are they any better? My kid did need several months of aspirin and Plavix, so I was woundering about your post.

Regards,

Ricardo

Hi Ricardo,

My son had two moderate to large aneurysms. He was on baby aspirin and Lovenox for two months. His two aneurysms regressed to normal over the two months. He’s on baby aspirin now.

Thanks,
Cici
