Any parents ever have KD?

I was wondering if any of the parents had KD as a child themselves. I was wondering if my Son who had KD at the age of 3 now 10. If his children will get it. Could there be something in our genetic makeup that triggered this.

Realize this is an older post, and not sure if you're still around, but I contracted KD in 80. None of my children have been affected.
