Rate Independent CT Scan? Heard of it?

Post by Littlebean »

Hello,
Back after a very long time. Some family health issues and some eagerness to look past KD.
My question is has anybody heard of a Rate Independent CT Scan?

My son's cardiologist wants to take him off aspirin after 2 normal echos but wants a CT Scan before he does as per some new regulations. Problem is that he isnt too eager about giving him beta blockers to slow down his heart rate and suggested a CT Scan that doesnot require the heart rate to be slowed down for children.
Any experience with such a CT Scan where your child was not given beta blocker?

Also any recent cases where the child was taken off aspirin without a CT Scan and just good echo scores?

Thanks.

BUMP

Moms please help. Do any of you have kids whose arteries are now reading normal in size? or those who have stopped aspirin after long term use?
my son is having stomach issues and his doc thinks they are aspirin related.

Hi - My daughter was diagnosed with KD at 11 mos (approximately 6 mos ago). She seems to be doing well, but is is hard to know given her age. She was taken off of Asprin 2 mos ago given that her echos looked good. She never received a CT scan.

Hope this helps.
