Immune System Problems after KD

My son is 5 years post KD, and within the last year, I have had a nagging suspicion that he is somewhat immune compromised because it seems to take him longer to recover from the same ailments that the rest of the family suffers from.

My son is a triplet. His sisters never suffered from KD.

I don't have anything concrete I can offer as proof. He is currently battling strep and seems to have it much worse than one of his sisters who presented with it within 24 hours of his initial symptoms. His is much worse -- fever is worse, congestion is worse, headache is worse. This isn't the first time. All of us were hit last month with a variation of the flu. He missed more than a week of school, and came down with it a second time after it ran through all of the rest of us.

I see that others have posted similar concerns. If I wanted to try to investigate this further for my own peace of mind and being able to help him in the future, how should I get started? Are there tests that I could request that would tell if his immune system is compromised/weaker than his sisters? I don't want to start on a wild goose chase, but I feel that I've seen enough to know there is something to this.

I had the same issue with my son after KD. Doctors said everything was fine because blood tests couldn't show anything, but when he was sick he had wild symptoms that didn't make sense to me. Have you gotten any answers? If interested, I will share his story.

I am having the same issues with my son, he keep getting a recurring very itchy rash and I have tried everything to help him but it keeps coming back. Prior to getting KD and he never had anything like this!
