Sandy-
Just checking in on Paige's surgery. Please let me know if there is absolutely ANYTHING you need while you are here, as we live in the greater LA area.
Prayers-

American Heart Assoc.- Los Angeles
I thought I would let everyone in the Southern California Area know that my daughter, Paige, will be on the KTLA (channel 5) morning news in the 9am hour on 02/01/13. She will be part of a "Go Red For Women" fashionshow with the AHA. She is the teen representative. They will be featuring a bit of he...

Re: Paige's aneurysms
Thanks for posting the results! It sounds like some positive news, but I am sure that the news of an impending bypass is a bit daunting. Everytime our Paige goes for a checkup, I prepare myself for the possibility of bypass. She too has a giant aneurysm in her LAD. I will keep you and Paige in our t...

Re: Paige's aneurysms
Please post how everything goes. The last time our Paige had a cath was at the age of 5 and she is now 15. We have been told that there is calcification also, but I have been wondering if they can get a clear picture of the extent of it without repeating the cath. Prayers to her and to you!

Re: Rare Disease Legislative Advocates
This is very interesting. Paige and I have attended Lobby Days in both Washington DC and in Sacramento with the American Heart Association. In DC, our mission was to secure funding for heart related research through the NIH. This is certainly a different avenue to seek research funding through. Plea...

Re: Rheumotology appointments
Our daughter has been post KD for over 13 years and still suffers from pain in her knees and other joints. Rheumotologists and orthos have yet to pinpoint a diagnosis. We are seeing a "new" rheumotologist in a couple of weeks and are hoping to have new answers to this problem. Over the years, I have...

Re: post KD, a year later. worried
My daughter, Paige, has KD @ 18 months with anuerysms. She experienced horrific joint pain for about a year post KD (frequently couldn't walk). We have always been told that the joint pain would end, but unfortunately, it hasn't. She is now 15 and still experiences pain in most of her major joints. ...

Re: Long-term arthritic pain
Thanks for your response Beth. I agree with you on the "stock" thing. I have reusable cold packs in my freezer ready because we are always icing something with Paige. I will let you know what this "new" doctor says. We are going to Children's Hospital Los Angeles (where Paige sees Dr. Takahashi for ...

Re: Chest pain
I feel like you are writing about my daughter. Her name is Paige and she is 15 years old. She had KD @ 18 months and now has a giant coronary aneurysm. She has also experienced similar chest pain and the hospital treated it exactly the same way. What I also find strange is that "my" Paige also exper...

Long-term arthritic pain
My daughter had KD @ 18 months of age. We have been told that she had one of the most severe cases documented in the year 1999. She spent a little over two weeks on the hospital, had two doses of IVIG, and one dose of Repro. She was originally diagnosed with a giant aneurysm in her left coronary art...
