My son's kawasaki detected on 3rd day

Post by yasinupmc » Sat Nov 15, 2014 6:28 am

My son (26 months) has recently being treated with kawasaki disease in Paris, France.

He was completely normal. He started having high fever around 40 degrees when we went to a trip to Amsterdam. His fever didn’t go down and we took him to hospital within 2 days of fever. Doctors thought he had normal viral fever and gave antibiotic. 3rd day he had red rashes with blood shot eyes and lips got red color. We took him to hospital again and they admitted him immediately. They suspected kawasaki and he had undergone echocardiogram and abdominal ultrasonography. His heart was not affected yet but doctors started giving IVIG on the 5th nigh for 12 hours. Today is the 6th day and his rash has reduced and fever disappeared. Doctors are giving him aspirin in order thin his blood. This is the current situation.

Thanks for any advice. I want to follow all the recent researches about this disease and the follow up of my son after he is released from hospital.
