Long term

Post by Jmowry » Sun Jan 18, 2015 8:16 am

My son is 7 he was 5 when he had it. Since he always has joint pain, feels sick to his stomach, tired all the time, seems to get sick more often, and behavior issues a lot of times. Tell me does anyone else have these issues. He had the the IVIG and a reoccurrence after day 10 and had 3 day IV steroid treatment. Please let me know your thoughts.

My son had KD at age 7 in 2002. He has been amazingly healthy since then, only one "sick" visit in the
last 12 years. He played competitive sports all through high school and now in college he runs nine miles
per day all year round for fitness. He also was a straight "A" student all through school and has a 4.0 GPA
in college.

If your son often doesn't feel well after 2 years...it might be worth investigating other causes than KD.
Does he get the recommended hour a day of exercise ? That might help with fatigue. Eating a healthy diet might help with stomach issues and frequency of illness.

good luck,
