Blood in Stool

Post by Littlebean » Sun Oct 05, 2014 4:50 am

Hello Moms and dads!
My son had atypical KD in April 2012. He has been on a low dose 81mg aspirin dose daily. Recently 3 weeks back i noticed some blood in his stool. The stool test showed no RBC or blood traces but that was a small sample.
I know its blood because his stool is streaked and it was smeared around the anus as well (sorry for TMI) its visible as bright red on the toilet paper.
His pead started him on a 5 day antibiotic course thinking its dysentery.
Now 2 weeks later the bleeding has resumed again. This time he has been started on a syrup called peptinil for 5 days and taken off aspirin.
These treatments seem random without an actual diagnosis so that worries me.
Also this is the second time this month that he has been taken off aspirin for a week. How safe is that? His aneurysm is now 3.2mm.

Has anybody else experienced this? Would really appreciate any feedback

Hi

I would not ask the pediatrician about this, it does sound random !
Please check with his pediatric cardiologist...he is the one to consult for anything related to KD and Kd
follow-up care :)

best
