Naturopathic or Alternative treatments

Post by Cassidy » Tue Feb 22, 2011 1:54 pm

Our daughter was diagnosed late with atypical Kawasaki's Disease at two month of age. She is 3 months old now. She has 3 giant aneurysms, has had a blood clot and is on many medications to help with both of these issues. Wondering if anyone has had any success with adding herbs, naturopathic, or ayurvedic medicine's to their children's treatment and meds to help strengthen the heart and/or to help prevent clots. Or if anyone has had any success with adding any alternative treatments.

Our daughter has received two treatments of IVIG, Remicade, two treatments of Abciximab, a blood transfusion and TPA.

She is on Lovenox, Plavix, 1/2 a baby aspirin and a beta-blocker.

Thanks for any thoughts or interest on this subject!

PLEASE, please, please check with your daughter's Pediatric Cardiologist before giving her ANY herbs or other substances and make
sure they are safe to take with her physician prescribed Lovenox, Plavix, and beta-blocker !

best to you both,

For example, garlic pills are common and used as a natural antibiotic. They are also a blood thinner and can have a compounding effect with prescribed blood thinners. Your doctor may not know anything about natural treatments so make sure you do your research.
