Re: Kawasaki Shock Syndrome - Toxic Shock Syndrome

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of physical activities did your son do at his 6th birthday party? Any sliding on plastic or inflatable slides? Rubber bounce houses? Wrestling on rubber mats? Floor hockey? Any horsing around on carpets? Anything to generate lots of friction? Martial arts with ...

Re: carpet cleaning

"Dust can carry static charge (Voltage) That's why people are cautious with dust on the inside of computers as they can short-circuit the electronics or inside. Interestingly, dust particles in those huge grain silos; if given an ignition source - usually a spark - can produce such a large explosion...

Re: carpet cleaning

I think the problem may be voltage on the carpet, up to 25,000 volts over a large surface area. Same problem on vinyl flooring, develops ~ 12,000 volts. The voltage is triggering electrical discharge in the child. Child is crawling/playing in a very strong electric field. http://esdsystems.descoindu...

Re: Hypothesis for Kawasaki Disease in Children Due to a Temporary Local Increase in Electrostatic Potentials

Joe, no problem posting the pdf. I tried attaching the pdf but it only allows jpg's? I already have a revision 1 in progress and will post that when it is finished. I can email you a slightly newer pdf to post if you give me an email address.

Thanks,

Stewart

Re: Kawasaki Disease and Static Electricity from Carpets, Plastic Slides and Rubber Turf

Kawasaki disease rates also climb when winds shift over desert/dry land such as in San Diego when the Santa Ana winds blow and humidity drops as well as winds shifting in Chile, Hawaii and Japan - just Google it. The wind carries lots of fine desert sand particles which can create tremendous amounts...

Re: Kawasaki Disease and Static Electricity from Carpets, Plastic Slides and Rubber Turf

Rob, I just placed a new graph on my blog of monthly Kawasaki disease rates in San Diego vs Humidity which implies Kawasaki disease may be triggered by an electrostatic imbalance between the child, atmosphere and contact with Earth ground. High electrostatic voltage potentials can build on children ...

Kawasaki Disease and Static Electricity from Carpets, Plastic Slides and Rubber Turf

I am a chemical engineer working on a new hypothesis for KD. After cleaning carpets with mechanical devices, or after kids crawling/scuffing on them, carpets can build up to -20,000 volts or more of static electrical charge due to triboelectric effects. The children can charge up to +20,000 volts. T...
