The doctor's and nurse's explained to us that it was infused so slowly (my son's took almost 14 hours to infuse) because of the risk of side effects. My son was diagnosed almost a year ago at 19 months. My son also had one infusion of the IVIG and was sent home 2 days later on a daily aspirin until our follow up with his cardiologist.
