Re: Kawasaki??

Hi,
Yes, I think antibiotics can mask some symptoms, or even throw results off, but I wouldn't think would mask a fever.
My daughter's fever varied as well when she was in the acute stage. Hope your daughter's doing well now.

Re: Life insurance application

Thanks for sharing. I have often wondered about my daughter being diagnosed at age 4 with KD, and when we apply, or she applies for life insurance in the future.

Re: 7 year-old - Treated fast, but with wrong dose IVIG

That's so refreshing to hear how well your son is doing know. Thanks for sharing, Nancy. hi Children who are not treated with IVIG at all have about a 25% chance of developing aneurysms. Children treated in the first 10 days of illness with IVIG have about a 5% chance of developing aneurysms. My son...

Re: ADVICE PLEASE**4 weeks post diagnosis and now has croup** concerned **

Could you call the Children's Hospital and ask about your concerns to determine if he needs to be seen, or could provide guidance on things to watch for with him being on aspirin.

Re: Constantly Sick after Kawasaki??

I've read a few posts of parents asking the same question, or saying their kid is constantly sick post KD. There's a few posts in regards to low immune systems post KD. It's not consistent with all KD patients, but sounds like other parents have gone through it. Search the forum for those posts, the...

Re: 10 years post KD-low immune system

My daughter tested positive for mono proir to her KD diagnosis. Her dr ran extra blood work that showed she was never exposed to the virus that causes mono, so why did it show positive?? Post KD she has chronic stuffiness, large tonsils, snores now and has noisy breathing. We see an ENT this week. S...

Re: When do aneuysms typically show in the disease progression

I believe aneurysms can show up at anytime, that's why they recommend an echo at time of diagnosis, two weeks later and six weeks later. We had an echo at two weeks and everything looked fine but have our 6 week next week and they like to do around 6-8 weeks because as we were told, there's a chance...

My daughter, Chloe, age 4

Here's a summary of my daughter Chloe's diagnosis of KD. She was initially seen for severe congestion after Christmas, and treated with amoxicillin for sinus infection. However, the next night she started complaining of her ear hurting and developed a fever after being on the amoxicillin for two day...

Re: How soon did your child receive Echo?

Thank you everyone. We did take her to a children's hospital. We were told that in our area, they do not have the capabilities to do echo's right away. (Pediatric cardiologists fly in from Omaha once a week, so they couldn't get her an echo for almost a whole month after her diagnosis! Her pediatric...

Re: How soon did your child receive Echo?

She received IVIG. (apparently since she was not spiking fevers anymore, was just low grade, she could receive treatment next day is what I was told). I was not aware of standard procedure and was told it could take up to 8 hours....However, it took 13 hours in an infusion room within the ER departm...

How soon did your child receive Echo?

Hi everyone, my daughter was recently diagnosed with KD and received treatment (via outpatient-she didn't even get admitted to hopsital!), which improved her symptoms; however, she has not yet received an echo. They want us to wait until February 3rd, which we follow up with her doctor tomorrow and ...
