Re: Fever gone is it Kawasaki?

Did his hands or feet turn red and peel off in thick layers? I had my daughter get an ECHO after a very high, lengthy fever after her brother had KD, just to be on the safe side (she was fine) I say error on the side of caution, if you think he may have had it, get his heart checked out.

Re: Why researchers are not able to find the cause for KD

I have read about the spores from China and the theory could be true, seems that a lot of the times there are outbreaks, the jet stream is over them. I think it had to do with farming or something. This is one more reason it should be a mandatory reported disease to the CDC if you ask me, tracking i...

Kawasaki T-shirts

There are Kawasaki's awareness and survivor T-shirts for sale if enough people reserve them. At this time they need 5 more adult and 9 more child reservations to star making them again. The proceeds go to the Kawasaki Foundation. http://teespring.com/KawasakiSurvivorAdult http://teespring.com/Kawasa...

Re: Why researchers are not able to find the cause for KD

Our son had big anger issues for a month or two after Kawasaki's. He got angry for no reason, attacked his baby sister, and was constantly throwing screaming fits. For us it did get better. I think the vessels in the brain swell during the disease and affect personality, as well as this being a very...

Re: high of aspirin

Bruising very easily, bleeding a lot if cut, and be careful of them catching chicken pox if they haven't been vaccinated. If they haven't been vaccinated wait at least a year, and do not vaccinate younger siblings for one year as it is a live virus vaccine.

Re: Why researchers are not able to find the cause for KD

I have a 3 year old son who went through this a couple months ago. I researched, and researched, and got no answers. I have seen article after article on "The Cause", all different things. It has to be the most frustrating thing I've ever had to deal with. For us, it is over. My son is well, and had...

Re: Lydia stay in picu

I wish there was more information for you. I wish I could help you. I just went through a very scary time with my 3 yr old son. 3 different hospitals before we got the help we needed. I understand your frustration. I hope your little one is doing better and you have found some answers. Update if you...

Re: Mood Swings?!?!

I can't comment on years from now, but my son just went through this a few weeks ago. He came home from the hospital just plain angry. He gets upset over nothing, shaking mad, little fits balled up and bright red. Just plain inconsolable. I'm hoping he will grow out of it, he's 3, and I too wonder i...

Re: Researching Kawasaki

I'm sure I'm too late for your report, and can't give you any statistics, but my 3 yr old son just had this illness and I want to say "Thank You" for trying to bring awareness to this disease. Rare or not it deserves research and public knowledge. Misdiagnosis can have terrible consequences, both im...

Frankie's Story

On 5-19-14 my 3 1/2 yr old son, Frankie, developed a fever. Two days later his fever remained high, over 103, and did not respond to Tylenol or Motrin. His lymph nodes on the left side of his neck swelled significantly. We took him to our pediatrician where he was given an antibiotic. The next day h...
