Re: post KD, a year later. worried

Hi! My daughter was diagnosed and treated 2 years ago for Kawasaki. She is 4 years old now and I can tell you I have seen/heard the same with her. She does tire more easier than most and does complain of joint pain periodically although this seems to have lessened a bit in the last 3 months or so. I...

Re: UTI??

Finally received the blood results this morning. Her ESR rate is down to 38 from 50. Her WBC is still high and her platelets quadrupled from approximately 100K to 400+K. CRP is 1.4 now. Awaiting word back from the doctor as to what the cardiologist recommends we do.

Fingers crossed!!! :)

Re: UTI??

Thank you for responding. As it turns out, the culture of the urine came back today and she is negative for a uti so that is not an accurate diagnosis after all. She continues to take the antibiotics prescribed for it as we wait to hear from the doctor (we only heard from the nurse so far today). He...

Kawasaki daughter has red cheek

Hi all, So I turn to this forum as a person whose daughter suffered from Kawasaki Disease 14 months ago when she was 2. I consider myself a relatively 'calm' parent, as i also have 2 older boys that have had their share of illnesses over the years. With this girl though, I am definitely different - ...

Cleveland Ohio Events?

Does anyone know of any events in Cleveland, OH or surrounding areas? Is there anyone who would be interested in organizing something with me in this area or provide ideas on what has worked best for them?

Re: First Kawasaki, now possibly arthritis?

So far, she is doing ok. Still pretty moody, complaining about her elbows being sore once in a while but....not sure if it truly hurts or if she is still 'traumatized' from the number of blood draws she has had in that area of her arm! her next blood test will be next week. echo in 2....thanks to ev...

Re: First Kawasaki, now possibly arthritis?

Thanks to both of you for responding. This is all so strange to me being that it is new but even moreso, I didn't even know the doctor was looking at ANA. Maya (my daughter) shows no signs of joint pain or anything but now that her esr level is still high and her ana result is positive, the doctor i...

First Kawasaki, now possibly arthritis?

My 2 year old daughter was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease almost 2 weeks ago. She was admitted to the hospital after having a fever of 104-105, red eyes, rash on legs, high ESR and CRP levels and swollen, red lips with sores in her mouth. She was treated with IVIG on what would be her 6th day so we...

Re: Body temperature

Thank you for your reply. They explained the potential spike in temp but the lowness of her temp since that is what seems to strange to me - suppose i am a little paranoid right now too. she did have her follow up echo and it showed no problems. however, since we caught it so early (we had her admit...

Re: Body temperature

My 2 year old daughter just completed ivig treatment yesterday for kawasaki disease. her temperature was normal (98.6) for 14 hours that same day and then went up to 101.5. We thought it was starting over and she would have to be retreated. She was given motrin for the 101.5 and then when they took ...
